When taking PSPO II, you should have experience as a Product Owner and a strong understanding of the fundamentals of Scrum. While attendance is not a prerequisite, attending a Professional Scrum Product Owner - Advanced class is highly recommended. PSPO II tests your knowledge of Scrum, Product Ownership, delivering value and how you would handle real-world situations. PSPO II includes questions from the following Focus Areas as defined in the Professional Scrum Competencies. The greatest emphasis is on Managing Products with Agility followed by Evolving the Agile Organization. Understanding and Applying the Scrum Framework: Empiricism, Scrum Values, Scrum Team, Events, Artifacts, Scaling Managing Products with Agility: Forecasting & Release Planning, Product Vision, Product Value, Product Backlog Management, Business Strategy, Stakeholders & Customers Evolving the Agile Organization: Organizational Design & Culture, Portfolio Planning, Evidence Based Management

Earning PSPO III requires a very high level of Scrum knowledge and extensive experience maximizing value as a Product Owner. Attending a course is not required nor sufficient for this certification. However, attending Professional Scrum Product Owner and Professional Scrum Product Owner - Advanced training is recommended. Similarly, possessing a PSPO I and PSPO II certification is not required, but they are strongly recommended. Evidence shows it is important to pass the PSPO I and PSPO II to get a good baseline of your level of knowledge. Anyone scoring below 90% on the PSPO I and PSPO II will find earning the PSPO III very difficult. Preparing for PSPO III PSPO III questions ask you to know the content of and understand the context of the Scrum Guide, and apply your own experience. While experience is most important, reviewing material about how to prepare for PSPO I and prepare for PSPO II may also be helpful. Familiarity with the changes to the the 2020 Scrum Guide will also be beneficial.
